May 30 -31, 2008, Team Kirage competed at the New England Open, a 5A NASKA World Tournament in Marlboro, MA. The following is a list of how each team member placed in their respective divisions:

Pat Underwood:

• 3rd Place - 18 - 29 Men’s Black Belt Soft Style Forms
• 4th Place - 18 - 29 Men’s Black Belt Extreme Weapons
• 6th Place - 18 - 29 Men’s Black Belt Extreme Forms
• 7th Place - 18 - 29 Men’s Black Belt Hard Style Traditional Weapons
• 9th Place - 18 - 29 Men’s Black Belt Japanese/Okinawan Traditional Forms

Dottie White:

• 1st Place - 30 - 39 Women’s Black Belt Weapons
• 2nd Place - 30 - 39 Women’s Black Belt Forms
• 2nd Place - 30 - 39 Women’s Black Belt Middleweight Fighting

Connor Griffith:

• 3rd Place -  13 & Under Advanced Underbelt Weapons
• 5th Place -  13 & Under Advanced Underbelt Musical Weapons
• 7th Place - 12-13 Advanced Underbelt Forms

Rita Lappert:

• 1st Place - 14-15 Advanced Underbelt Forms
• 2nd Place - 14-15 Advanced Underbelt Weapons

Congratulations to Team Kirage on all of their efforts and hard work. Pat had a great showing for his first time in the Soft Style Division. Dottie continues to show why she was an awesome addition to Team Kirage. Rita was outstanding at her first World Tournament representing Team Kirage. Connor continues to place in the top finalist in all of his divisions. Look for the Team at the following upcoming events: Bluegrass/AKA Nationals (June 20-21) and US Open (July 4-5).

Congratulations to Dottie White for winning Women’s Sparring Grand Champion at the Gator Nationals World Karate Championships in Daytona Beach, FL, May 16-17, 2008.

Dottie placed 1st in the 30-39 Women’s Sparring Division and fought for the Women’s Grand Champion in the Saturday Night Finals.

Again, congratulations to Dottie on her victory and  for bringing the first NASKA rated Grand Championship to Team Kirage in 2008.
